Draws will be Level-Based and will provide very tight ranges of UTR within each draw so be sure to provide valuable match experience and opportunity to improve UTR's
Every effort will be made to accommodate the level of each player. Find your Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) at universaltennis.com. The most accurate display of a rating is with a Premium or Premium Plus account (adds College Tennis features).
Matches per Player for this Tournament: 3 singles
Match, Set and Game Scoring Format: Best of 3 FULL SETS with Regular Scoring
Coaching allowed by a professional coach who has checked in as a player's coach at check in. Coaching can happen at changeover, within the regular pace of play and without verbal interruption. Parents who are not professional coaches should take into consideration that it could be better to just watch and cheer rather than get involved in a coaching capacity.
There will be 2 officials for 7 courts.
College players will be playing the tournament. However, being a Full Level based event, players of all levels are appropriate. Divisions will based on UTR, so matches will be level appropriate for all players accepted. Should a player not be accepted due to lack on players at the appropriate level then a refund will be issues immediately.
As previously noted, matches will be in Full Level-Based Divisions to provide better developmental opportunity and better opportunity to positively impact one’s UTR.
All Players (regardless of Level, Age or Gender) should register for the Singles Division. Level Based Draws will done at close of registration based on Player UTR’s.
With UTR Events there is no need to shop for tournaments, strong draw, weak draw, points per round considerations, etc. There is no rationale in waiting to sign up and find out who else may decide to play. Your placement in a level-based draw will be based on your UTR. You will get a set number of matches in a draw that will increase the likelihood that you have matches both good for your development and good for your opportunity to improve your UTR. In the event that there are not enough players within a near enough UTR range for this to be possible, then the Tournament Director will not place you in a draw that isn’t good for you. Your fees will be refunded. If everyone is waiting on the sideline to see who else enters then nobody ends up entering. This is a new mindset. If you want to play then register with confidence and without regard for who else is playing. Again, the Tournament Director will not allow players to be placed in draws that are not beneficial for the player.
